I have been wanting to try this recipe for a while now, but just never got around to it...My mom's friend said it was awesome and that we needed to make it...Well, I finally had the chance to try it and I'm SO glad I did! It's just about as light as you can make a cake, but tastes so great! I had really low expectations, but I was totally blown away by the taste and texture of this simple dessert. It's a really great "recipe" for a weekday dessert that can be enjoyed without guilt. (Woohoo!)
(I say "recipe" because I'm not sure it can be called that if there are only two ingredients. Can it?)
Now, I used a vanilla cake mix with diet cream soda...but the possibilities are endless!
Did I mention that it only requires TWO ingredients? HOT DOG! (That's not one of them.)
A Boxed Cake Mix and 12 oz of Soda.
I don't usually keep soda in the house, but I wanted to try this so I bought a bottle. Well apparently, I didn't work fast enough so I ended up with a tad less than 12 oz, so that I had enough for the glaze.
All you need to do is combine the two ingredients....
Bake it according to the box's directions (I used a bundt just because...well, why not? But you can do whatever! Next time I'm doing cupcakes so I can make a cream soda frosting!)
It looked a little boring on it's own...so I made a Cream Soda Glaze with powdered sugar and a bit of the cream soda. (Next time I would add a 1/4-1/2 tsp of vanilla I think)
HOLY YUM!
Thanks for reading!
Come back again soon
